Job Summary
The School of Policy, Justice and Public Safety at Columbus State University invites applications for a Part-time Lecturer of Political Science.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Political Science. A normal teaching load is 3-6 hours per semester.
The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration; work in continuous improvement of Political Science programs; demonstrate exceptional ability to function as part of a team with university faculty; and engage in practices that support the Universitys focus on student engagement and active learning.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 18 hours of graduate work in Political Science by time of appointment
Candidates must have a Master's degree by time of appointment.
A Master's degree in Political Science and the ability to teach multiple in-person classes is preferred.
The field of specialization is open for this position; however, the successful candidate must be able to teach Introductory American Government classes.

Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. A successful criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
