Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to join a dynamic and growing Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine.
The selected candidate will contribute to clinical care, education, research, and program development, with significant leadership opportunities, including the potential to lead the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program.
Division & Program Highlights
The Division provides comprehensive care for children with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, supported by a multidisciplinary team and strong institutional infrastructure.
* Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, research coordinators, a dietitian, and social worker
* Advanced clinical capabilities
* Flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, including interventional Pulmonary function testing
* Sleep studies
* High resolution CT
* Genetic and molecular testing
* Complex disease management
* Home ventilation
* Severe therapy resistant asthma (biologics, personalized treatment plans)
* Chronic lung disease of prematurity
* Rare interstitial lung diseases
* Neuromuscular related respiratory failure
* Pulmonary complications of systemic diseases
* Advanced Therapeutic Interventions
* Noninvasive ventilation
* Mechanical ventilation management
* Airway clearance therapies
* Critical and Multidisciplinary Care
* Co-management in Pediatric intensive care units
* Coordination with cardiology, ENT, genetics and gastroenterology
* Long-term care planning for medically complex children
Cystic Fibrosis Program (Leadership Opportunity)
Opportunity to lead and further develop a highly established Pediatric CF Center.
* Accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
* Active participant in the Therapeutics Development Network (TDN)

* Multidisciplinary care team with strong clinical and research infrastructure
Leadership opportunities include program growth, clinical trials expansion, quality improvement, and regional/national collaboration.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonology care
* Participate in consult services (PICU, NICU, general pediatrics)
* Manage conditions such as cystic fibrosis, asthma, BPD, neuromuscular disease, and sleep disorders
* Flexible bronchoscopy/advanced bronchoscopy
* Participate in multidisciplinary clinics
Academic & Research Opportunities
* Faculty appointment with opportunities for protected academic time
* Participation in clinical trials and outcomes research
* Collaboration across pulmonary, allergy/immunology, neonatology, and critical care
* Mentorship of trainees
Teaching Responsibilities
* Teach medical students, residents, and fellows

Minimum Qualifications
* MD, DO, or equivalent degree
* Board-certified/board-eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology
* Eligible for New York State licensure
