About the Position:
The Student Health and Counseling Center strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as am Associate Director, Student Health Services. The Associate Director, Student Health Services should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the general direction of the Director of Health Services, the Associate Director (AD) directs, plans, and oversees the day-to-day prevention and administrative operations of Health Services (HS), including TitanWell (TW). The AD provides the director with critical information and feedback on all core matters related to the success of HS and TW. Assists with developing, implementing, and assessing the vision, purpose, aims, objectives, and strategies for all programs and services within the HS and TW. Assists with the planning, implementing, assessing and improving the overall HS and TW experience for students, faculty, and staff with an emphasis on student development, satisfaction, and retention. Provides strong leadership and oversight to various HS departments and assists the director with human resources operations, including recruitments, labor relations, and evaluations of professional staff. Responsible for oversight and administration of the student immunization process and works closely with campus partners to ensure compliance. Works closely with director on outbreaks or other related health issues that require reporting, communication, and a coordinated campus response. Assists with researching and responding to crisis issues related to physical health. Assists the director with the creation and assessment of a business continuity plan, emergency operations plan, facilities improvement and maintenance plan, and fee referendums. The Associate Director will oversee the design and analysis of learning outcomes, coordinate patient satisfaction surveys and campus-wide health assessments, as well as benchmarking used by HS. Assists the director with the planning process for the annual operating budget, implements budget and procurement procedures for the department, and manages facility repairs and operations. The Associate Director strategizes and implements best practices in the design, development, and operations of health promotion activities, programs, and services in TW. Assists with providing workshops and trainings to assist students, faculty, staff, and volunteers in matters improving wellness and physical health. Oversees the training, supervision, and evaluation of all student assistants and volunteers within HS and TW. Assists with leadership and facilitation of staff orientation, leadership retreats, and trainings. Assists the director in meeting accreditation and HIPAA requirements by overseeing compliance of all applicable State, Federal, and CSU regulations, laws, and policies. The Associate Director serves on the Student Wellness Management Team and assists the director with the preparation, planning, allocation, and management of staff and other resources for HS and TW to keep HS a leader in college health. The Associate Director independently exercises considerable latitude in determining and achieving functional area/organizational unit objectives on a day-to-day basis to meet established goals and interprets, applies, and recommends modifications to departmental procedures and campus policies as necessary. Represents HS and TW and collaborates with the CSUF campus and the larger Fullerton community by serving on committees and with wellness and health-related programming. The Associate Director acts as the administrator in charge in the absence of the director. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Public Administration, or other health related field. Three years of experience in a leadership position. Experience preparing, reporting and analyzing data and creating reports. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and relate to a diverse student, faculty, and staff population. Demonstrate customer service skills and experience training and implementing these skills with staff. Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic. Understanding of ethical issues related to student health and the ability to lead by example. Possesses the computer skills necessary for word processing, spreadsheets, analysis software, Internet, list serves, and electronic mail. Strong oral and written communication skills in order to write reports and communicate with staff, the campus community, and others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree from an accredited college or university in a health-related field, public health, business, or higher education administration. Prior experience working in a healthcare setting, in college health or within the California State University system. Experience working in a collective bargaining environment. Knowledge of information systems relating to electronic medical records. Knowledge of HIPAA and State and Federal regulations and laws relating to a health care ambulatory medical clinic. Experience with accreditation in an ambulatory health care setting, Knowledge of public health theory and best practices. Working knowledge of SPSS or other data analysis software.
