Description:
Position No. 53380. SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY, Dedman College, Dallas TX. The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a non-tenure track lecturer to join our collaborative and diverse team. Responsibilities include teaching a non-majors introductory biology lecture course (introduction to topics in cell biology, metabolism, genetics, and human physiology) and upper-level laboratory courses in molecular genetics and biochemistry. Additional teaching to fulfill course load requirements can be tailored to the candidate's interests and expertise. Because this is a teaching intensive position, applicants must enjoy working with undergraduate students. Lecturers are welcomed and encouraged to participate in departmental committees and meetings, although such service is not required. Lecturers are eligible to apply for SMU-sponsored faculty grants for research and travel. A competitive salary will be offered. This is intended to be a long-term position and there is a promotion track. Position begins fall semester 2024.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. Preference will be given to individuals with a background in molecular genetics or biochemistry and to those with recent research and teaching experience in the biological sciences.
