Job Summary
The Pediatric Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (PCTU) is a 20-bed tertiary care center receiving patients from state, regional, national and international referrals. PCTU specializes in the medical and surgical care of infants, children, adolescents and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. Our goal is the provision of exemplary nursing care embracing a philosophy of family centered care empowering families to participate in the decision-making and care of their children. Our PCTU Administrative Assistants are an integral part of our team through operational, financial, administrative, personnel management, purchasing, and accounting responsibility to support the unit operations.

Responsibilities*
Provide administrative support to the Clinical Nursing Director and other nursing leadership as assigned.

Prepare, submit, and reconcile financial processes and statements such as travel and hosting expenses, tuition support, purchase orders, account reconciliation, etc.

Process and reconcile bi-weekly and monthly payroll adhering to Department of Labor regulations, UM Policies and Procedures and contracts as appropriate, and reconcile the Gross Pay Register.

Prepare all personnel documentation including job postings, appointment changes, and all records/absences pertaining to personnel issues, and process all aspects of hiring and onboarding.

Maintain departmental personnel records, including regulatory compliance with licensing, certification, and job requirement document auditing.

Complete other projects as needed based on unit needs and as directed by Clinical Nursing Director.

Required Qualifications*
Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, with strong capacity to learn new technology.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support capacity.

A high school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

Reasonable knowledge of University Policies and Procedures.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability and initiative to work independently and regularly exercise judgment in setting priorities.

Ability to compose and produce professional correspondence.

Desired Qualifications*
Bachelors degree preferred.

Four or more years of experience in an administrative support capacity.

Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures, as well as familiarity with UMPNC contract and SPG.

Experience using database software packages, pulling queries, and data analysis.

Experience using ANSOS/OneStaff, M-Pathways/PeopleSoft, Outlook, MBox, MLearning, and Finance Business Intelligence.

Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40

Shift/Hours/Days: 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday

Location: Mott Children's Hospital Pediatric Cardio-Thoracic Unit (PCTU)

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
