Administrative Assistant, Faculty Senate

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Executive Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support to the
Faculty Senate, the Senate Agenda Committee (6 members & Chair of the Faculty Senate) as well as assisting the Executive Assistant with various administrative tasks. Duties include scheduling meetings, coordinating and providing support to related committees, updating various lists, travel arrangements, assisting with paperwork, electronic and paper data management, and other tasks as assigned. Incumbent will maintain Senate web site, structure/maintain effective filing systems, coordinate survey mailings, administer evaluations and track all scheduled Senate activities. The incumbent is the office point person and will act as a department liaison to the Provost's Office, Dean's Offices and other key administrators. This position will act as the
receptionist, assist with phone calls and walk-in inquiries, and handle requests for Grievance Forms, Klein Lecturer and
Excellence in Teaching Awards forms. Manage office equipment repairs and order office supplies.

Qualifications:

An associates degree, bachelors preferred, plus 3-5 years working in a professional office environment; prior academic
environment experience is a plus Experience with matters involving confidentiality and diplomacy is required. The incumbent
must have a high level of flexibility to work effectively in a changing environment, can effectively troubleshoot and resolve office
technology issues. Communication, interpersonal and organization skills are essential. Strong attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and electronic calendaring. Position will include website updating responsibilities A customer service background is highly desirable.
