Assistant/Associate Professor for Management Information Systems

Position Summary
The Assistant/Associate Professor for Management Information Systems will teach graduate and undergraduate classes in Management Information Systems. Instruction in management decision sciences course is possible. The areas of focus will include systems analysis and design, networking and data mining/analytics. Publishing peer reviewed articles in the discipline, providing service to the program, school, university, and the community is expected. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Essential Functions
Teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses in both management information system and decision science. Knowledge and experience in data mining/analytics preferred. In addition, the faculty member must maintain an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications. Additional expectations include advising students and building relationships with the area business community.

The applicant should have a good understanding of current research and industry technology trends. Also, the applicant should have a broad understanding of different data analysis techniques. The applicant must posses the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Earned Doctorate in Management Information Systems or related field with at least 18 hours in the discipline. ABDs with a dissertation defense scheduled prior to August 2018 will be considered.

Required Work Experience
No previous teaching experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience in higher education or training in an industrial environment.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
Varied daytime and evening hours.

Physical Demands
