Job Summary

The University of Colorado encourages applications for an Associate Athletic Director of Compliance! This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Office of Compliance Services. The Associate Athletic Director will ensure a comprehensive compliance program covering NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Day-to-Day Compliance Oversight:
  • Lead and supervise daily operations of the Office of Compliance Services (OCS) including staff management, systems oversight and operational efficiencies. Ensure timely completion of monitoring, education, reporting and investigations. Serve as the liaison between the OCS and all athletic department areas, campus partners and external entities. Delegate to OCS staff to ensure appropriate coverage and performance of duties. Report to SWA/Senior Associate AD on department policy, institutional audit and NCAA legislative changes.
Football:
  • Collaborate with the football program to ensure adherence to NCAA rules and regulations. Oversee compliance monitoring systems related to football recruiting activities including social media, contacts, evaluations, and visits. Lead compliance operations related to home and away competitions. Extend support and guidance in compliance matters to other sport programs.
Interpretations:
  • Provide accurate interpretations of NCAA, Conference and institutional rules and regulations. Research through the NCAA LSDBi database and consult with colleagues at the NCAA and the Conference for interpretations. Serve as CU's representative in Conference Head DOC meetings. Prepare and file waivers and petitions.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Other duties as assigned by the SWA/Senior Associate AD.




What We Can Offer

  • Starting salary range is $100,000 - $110,000.

What We Require

  • 5 years of athletic compliance or closely related experience at a Division I, FBS institution, at the national headquarters, or a conference office. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Bachelors degree.


What You Will Need

  • Ability to plan, direct, and supervise the work of assigned employees.
  • Ability to interpret and guide implementation of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated.
