Position Information
This recruitment is for 2 positions. The Counseling Psychologist III provides psychological services to the UCR campus. The primary responsibility of the Counseling Psychologist is to provide individual, couple, and group therapy to UCR students. The Counseling Psychologist also provides crisis intervention services; consults with students, staff, and faculty; provides intern supervision/training; makes presentations; and serves on University committees. The classification title and salary range for this position are currently under review. The candidate will be placed on the anticipated salary range in accordance with the step placement methodology as defined in the collective bargaining agreement. The classification for this position is covered under the Residual Health Care Professionals Unit Contract (HX).


Minimum Requirements
Thorough knowledge of applicable laws and standards of professional conduct.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with diverse client group, members of the medical staff and faculty.
Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively use interpersonal skills while representing the department on campus and to external units.
Must be computer literate.
Thorough knowledge associated with providing evaluation, diagnosis and psychotherapy services.
Thorough knowledge of working with diverse populations including but not limited to African American, Asian American, Latino/Latina, international, first-generation, veterans, students with disabilities, and LGBTQ. Understanding of intersectionality and how it impacts the daily lives of students.
Ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation and other after-hours campus activities.
Thorough skills associated with conducting complex diagnosis, problem-solving and critical-thinking.
Ability to conduct complex analysis and develop and present recommendations and course of treatment.


Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of diagnostic/ psychological testing methodologies.

Knowledge of electronic/medical records systems.
