Position Title Event and Marketing Specialist, Conference Center
Status of Position Hourly - Year Round
FLSA Non Exempt

Position Summary
Provides on-site event assistance for meetings and events in the Conference Center, atrium and other events/meetings scheduled through the Conference Center. Promotes events and the Conference Center through social media platforms, website and on campus exhibits.

Reporting Relationship
Directly reports to the Manager Conference Center and Community Services.

Essential Responsibilities
1. Supports meeting and event requirements to include: room set-up, audio-visual equipment, catering and table décor support and customer service. Arranges tables weighing 35 – 102 pounds and chairs regularly to complete room set-ups.

2. Assists Manager with marketing of the Conference Center through social media to include Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, etc. and provides website updates as needed.

3. Maintains the Conference Center's pamphlet library and bulletin boards. Collaborates with College departments to request promotional flyers. Sets up / takes down PSC exhibit tables as outlined on rental discount applications.

4. Assists with the design and implementation of an online evaluation system.

5. Develops the weekly schedule of events and distributes to College departments. Updates and maintains the Rotunda TV power point schedule of events and promotional slides.

6. Inventories and returns all equipment to the proper storage area. Informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment and materials that need to be replaced.

7. Provides hospitality services involved with client catering orders including set up, maintenance and clean up.

8. Answer inquiries from potential clients' about the facility and the general public regarding events being held on campus.

9. Tracks the number of clients, students and/or visitors to the conference center for the monthly report.

10. Monitors daily activities in order to ensure satisfaction of participants and resolves any issues or problems that may arise.

11. Communicates with PSC Campus Police to ensure the safety of clients and security of the facility.

12. Ability to exercise initiative as a critical member of a team and to work independently with high efficiency and productivity.

13. Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities as required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma and two years of relevant experience or Associate Degree and one year of relevant experience.
2. Event coordination experience.
3. Experience marketing through social media networks and websites.
4. Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor Degree.
2. Three years of event management experience.

Anticipated Work Hours and Days
Work 19 hours per week and varied flexible schedule to include Saturdays
