Position Summary:
The Lead Regional Quality Child Care Consultant, in collaboration with the Assistant Director, is responsible for assuring that their assigned regional office staff meets the goals of the IdahoSTARS program. The lead consultant is responsible for daily on-site supervision of regional office staff; ensures adherence to established processes and procedures; provides oversight of the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) and the Idaho STARS Professional Development System (PDS) activities; provides oversight of the Referral process: provides consultation services (site visits) to child care providers; ensures that technical assistance to child care providers is based upon a coaching approach; recruits Idaho STARS field mentors, apprentices and qualified trainers to participate in the Idaho STARS professional development system and other opportunities; provides resources to child care providers and registry participants; and provides leadership in the development and completion of community outreach events and opportunities in order to increase awareness of the value of quality care and education.


Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Child Development or related field; PLUS Minimum of two years experience in the field of early care and education
Experience:
Conducting adult workshops and training (small and large groups);
Providing liaison with customer/provider groups;
Gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing facts;
Computer literacy to include database experience;
Devising solutions to problems;
Writing concise reports;
Interpreting federal or state regulations/guidelines.


Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree with minimum of five years experience in the field of early care .
Enrollment in the IdahoSTARS Registry;
Coaching in an Early Childhood setting;
Conducting independent research;
Supervising adults and managing staff.
Ability to:
Maintain high level of confidentiality;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills;
Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in composing written statements;
Manage a variety of projects simultaneously;
Portray a professional demeanor;
Work occasional evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of:
IdahoSTARS and the Idaho Child Care Program; and education;
Quality inclusive child care and developmentally appropriate practices.
