Lifeguard Instructor (Temporary)

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a temporary Lifeguard Instructor.

The candidate would be expected to: consistently meet all course objectives within class instruction and testing with all participants;
organize the class environment to enhance individual and group performance and to minimize distractions; cover all material required for each course; use corrective feedback to evaluate participants' progress and correct problems; supervise and give guidance to any Instructor Aides assisting with the course; ensure that participants meet the course completion requirements; complete all required records, forms, and reports, including attendance records, certifications forms, class rosters, and accident/incident reports;

administer and score the final examination; submit the completed course records and report to the American Red Cross; issue course completion certificates; be responsible for the safety of all people who enter the pool area or in the classroom; be responsible for the knowledge and understanding of the American Red Cross policies, procedures and Instructor responsibilities; communicate with Aquatics Management regarding challenges/ restrictions associated with conducting all American Red Cross courses.

Classes to be held on the following dates: March 20/21, April 17/18,
April 24/25, May 8/9, May 15/16, May 29/30, June 12/13, June 19/20.

Current certification in Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Training, Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer, Community First Aid and Safety or equivalent.
