Network Administrator

Essential Functions:
The primary function of this position is to provide advanced network troubleshooting / support, and systems administration of network firewalls and other networking hardware and software. This position requires a person with a demonstrated mastery in network management processes and industry best practices for both wired and wireless networks and firewalls.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or a Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming or closely related area; or an Associates degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Incumbent must possess knowledge and experience of supporting a variety of firewall platforms including Palo Alto Networks and Cisco Systems, Inc.
Incumbent must possess knowledge and experience of supporting VRF and/or VRF-lite network architectures on Layer3 devices
Incumbent must have advanced knowledge of troubleshooting network problems through all layers of the OSI model.
Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Incumbent should possess critical thinking skills and must be able to function in high-pressure situations.
Incumbent should be able to spot trends in reoccurring operational problems and take action to prevent future occurrences.
Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of networking design technologies for both switched Ethernet and wireless mediums
Ability to review and implement approved NCCU network design standards
Ability to independently apply technical judgment to work assignments to achieve desired outcomes.
CCNA certification strongly encouraged / CCNP certification preferred
