Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in Mechanical Engineering Technology for the academic year 2023-2024. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Engineering Design Graphics (EDG) courses. MET courses are project based, application focused giving our students real life experiences in the classroom. Teaching responsibilities for MET include one or more courses and/or laboratories in basic engineering mechanics, including statics, dynamics, or strength of materials, or in thermodynamics, machine design, engineering materials, instruments and control systems, welding and fabrication, metrology & CNC, fluid dynamics and others. Teaching responsibilities for EDG include courses using SolidWorks Design and/or AutoCAD software. This includes Survey of Engineering Graphics, Engineering Design Graphics I & II, Computer Aided Engineering and others. Review of the applications is ongoing. This position is renewable.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a closely related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

A PE license, College level teaching experience, and experience with online teaching platforms are preferred.
For graphics instructors, SolidWorks professional certification
Significant relevant work experience, college level teaching, and online teaching are pluses.
