Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Physics for the academic year 2023-2024. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following at a minimum:

Teach calculus-based and/or algebra-based freshman/sophomore level Physics, including lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students; prepare and conduct recitations (problem-solving sessions) to accompany algebra-based and calculus-based physics courses; prepare, set-up and direct freshman and sophomore-level physics laboratories.
Create and administer examinations; evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers
Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, lecture presentations, and worksheets.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

An earned M.S. degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Physics or a related field, including a minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate course work related to the assigned courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
Record of past teaching at a college or university
