Basic Function:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Advanced
Learning Technologies Lab at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, led by
Prof. Ivon Arroyo. The position is funded for 3 years. The successful
candidate will work with Dr. Ivon Arroyo and a research team at WPI
and across universities in New England on several research projects
involving math tutoring systems for K-12 level, that integrate
cognitive perspectives as well as metacognitive and affective
perspectives .

The post-doc in Learning Sciences and Technologies will help to carry
out studies in public schools using these learning technologies, help
to answer research questions in detailed experiments, lead data
collection/extraction, data collection and analysis, generate models
and statistical analyses to answer research questions, and publish
research articles.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate has an interdisciplinary profile, with a Ph.D. in
Psychology, Learning Sciences, Intelligent Systems or HCI/Computer
Science/AI, with experience at the edge of Learning Sciences, Computer
Science/Data MIning, and Mathematics Education/Psychology, and the
desire to work with K-12 level students as they learn mathematics with
novel technologies.
