Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional, the incumbent performs one or more of the following types of work:

Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers to check in to play golf
Sells shop merchandise
Opens and closes pro shop
Keeps pro shop and restrooms tidy
Opens and/or closes cash register daily
Gathers and cleans range balls
Cleans and gases carts
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles
1+ years of retail experience OR golf/recreation/sporting industry experience
2+ years of golfing experience
Duties of this position require successful candidates to be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

Good knowledge of the game of golf
Knowledge of golf equipment and merchandise
Basic golf knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills: Familiarity with inventory management software, point-of-sale systems, and general computer skills
Experience operating a cash register
Member of PGA or enrolled in PGM program and has passed PAT
Experience opening and closing cash register daily; working in a golf course pro shop
Ability to work spring, summer, and fall when the course is open
Familiarity with GHIN handicap system
Ability to work well in stressful situations
