Job Summary:
Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a Program Coordinator within Student Financial Services. This position coordinates and provides a broad range of financial services, including individual financial advising and counseling to students, parents, faculty, administration and the general public, exercising independent judgment in the interpretation of federal, state, local and University policies, procedures, and special programs.
  • This position performs specialized fiscal work related to student financial activity
  • Provides student financial counseling in regard to payment alternatives, including federal, state, local, and University financial aid, and payment plans.
  • This position coordinates and maintains quarterly financial disbursements, billing payment processing reconciliation and reporting functions. Also responsible for initiating and maintaining College in the High School billing.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school graduation or GED
  • Two years of experience in the program specialty, student financial services, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in customer service or student service with demonstrated customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.


Preferred Qualifications:

Job Duties:

Responsibility / Duty: Under general direction, coordinate and provide a broad range of financial services, including individual financial advising and counseling to student, parents, faculty, administration and the general public exercising independent judgment in the interpretation of federal, state, local and University policies, procedures, and special programs.

Performs specialized work related to student financial activity; provide student financial counseling in regard to payment alternatives, including federal, state, local, and University financial aid, payment plans and employment opportunities.

Assist students by phone and in-person with; registration, payments, explanation of charges, and other questions/concerns.

Responsibility / Duty: Print and mail monthly Due Diligence, Invoice, and Benefit Mail from CRC. Enter direct deposit accounts in Banner and CRC. Process cancellations and deferments for Perkins borrowers. General customer service for Perkins borrowers. Answer phones and assist walk in students by providing exceptional customer service. Track and process Total and Permanent Disability loan discharge process.

  • During the course of university employment this position will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
  • All new employees will comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Salary Information: $41,316 - $55,056 Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.
