Position Announcement

Uah Valley University is seeking a Program Manager! Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Community Education, organizes and coordinates community education programs for the Orem campus and surrounding area based on community needs and market feasibility research. This position will also oversee instructor management and curriculum development for all Orem campus Community Education programs while coordinating with the Operations team to make sure courses run smoothly. Courses may be offered in multiple modalities including online, face-to-face, and hybrid programs. Working with technology tools the coordinator creates, tracks, and reports on the outcomes of all their courses. The coordinator contributes as well to the department's annual strategic planning, revenue generation, and continuous improvement discussions.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Initiates, develops, and schedules new courses, in a large variety of subjects, based on research to meet the needs and interests of the community and create profitable programs. Negotiates with off-site facilities for access to resources as needed.
  • Develops program budgets, fee schedules, instructor wages, and reconciling budgets to ensure profit/loss margins, and prepares necessary financial and enrollment reports. Utilizing registration and course learning management systems ensures digital materials, marketing descriptions, and all necessary information is captured to ensure successful advertisement and execution of the course.
  • Seeks, vets, and hires qualified instructors while maintaining a pool of potential personnel. Manages onboarding, updates, course/schedule changes, and other information to instructors as needed. Ensures timely payments and reimbursements to instructors through collaboration with the financial office.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Operations team to make sure courses run smoothly including but not limited to: customer/student communication, course information, logistics and updates, facilitation needs, supply lists, instructor information, and updates.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, Business/Marketing, or in a closely related field AND one year of experience related to the summary of duties; OR an Associate's degree AND three years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education AND/OR experience related to the summary of duties totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master's degree in Education, Administration, Business/Marketing, or a closely related field AND one year of experience related to the summary of duties; OR a Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, Business/Marketing, or in a closely related field AND three years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education AND/OR experience related to the summary of duties totaling seven years.

  • Knowledge of continuing education, professional development, workforce development, certification, and community education programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in researching marketing education programs.
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices.
  • Knowledge of program development and delivery
