General Position Description:
Oversees, creates and implements strategic goals for the Accelerated Skills Training and Professional & Continuing Education programs within the discipline area(s). Plans, organizes, develops strategies and provides feedback to promote and direct student learning in alignment with Valencia College's learning centered values. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance regularly.

Salary Range: $48,676 - $59,020 per year

Essential Job Functions:
1. Manages and monitors the assigned program(s) performance and revenue and ensures the program offerings meet industry standards and best practices. Proactively communicates program needs and expectations, obtains feedback from instructors and students on program effectiveness, analyzes and makes recommendations to improve quality and profitability.
2. Contributes to the curriculum development process by establishing program advisory boards and hosting bi-annual sessions to confirm that program curriculum and content remain current with industry standards and nationally recognized certification partners. Proactively communicates with stakeholders on program progress and potential challenges.
3. Manages the student experience by supporting the creation of an inclusive, engaging, safe, supportive, and effective learning environment. Communicates effectively with leadership regarding student achievements, concerns, and/or issues. Engages with team to ensure resolution of any major issues with students, employers, and the team.
4. Secures and supports incumbent training for partners by seeking, assessing, and designing training solutions. Generates the Training Services Agreement and Statement of Work, schedules and secures instructors, supports high-quality programming, and shares appropriate feedback to clients. Supports the program implementation and invoicing.
5. Proactively engages in attaining program performance goals including but not limited to metrics such as higher than average pass rates on industry certification exams, enrollment counts, completion rates, placement rates, revenue and expense targets.
6. Engages with instructors, students, staff and recruiting team to ensure that program outcomes are meeting desired goals. Continually evaluates effectiveness of business processes for increased performance, efficiency and cost savings. Modifies and updates the program based on information obtained.
7. Oversees the recruitment, onboarding, management, professional development, and evaluation of assigned staff and instructors within the program/discipline areas.
8. Partners with the Recruiting and Career Placement Team on recruiting and placement strategies, developing relationships with new hiring partners, and seeking internship/employment opportunities.
9. Consistently meets with community and industry partners to develop new connections and enhance existing relationships. Develops relationships with vendors and other stakeholders to support students and programs.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.

General Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the Colleges worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.

While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
