Job Description:
FUNCTION & SCOPE:
Reporting to the Business Systems Manager - Financials this individual is primarily responsible for leading the business alignment of technology solutions with operational business needs for the Pre-Award and Compliance System (SUNY PACS) application, as well as, assist with Oracle Grants Management module

DUTIES:
  • Responsible for configuration and maintenance to meet business requirements of the Pre-Award and Compliance System (PACS) application.
  • Discover and document business requirements, processes, data elements, business rules, and system requirements pertinent to the project that the incumbent is assigned to.
  • Facilitate ongoing functional development; represent user needs for modifications to the functional design of the system. Keep apprised of new and revised business requirements to ensure system accommodates business needs. Document functional and technical requests and work with technical team and contracted vendors to ensure implementation of the requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and provide ownership of important project assets and documents such as requirement traceability matrix, function traceability matrix, business rules, decision-making documents, process flows etc.
  • Assist with coordination and business analysis for the cross-campus and cross-function work groups to fulfill important project timeline and deliverables. Identify and communicate cross-functional issues to appropriate manager.
  • Responsible for functional implementation of migrations, upgrades and patches; conduct gap analysis; coordinate testing; assist in set-up and configuration.
  • Work closely with customer base including PACS Oversight Governance Group (POGG), campus users and Sponsored Program Services staff to proactively understand issues, specific requirements and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Assist with support of the Oracle Grants Management application.
  • Design, prepare and compile complex documents and materials.
  • Perform other project duties and carry out additional specialized tasks and assignments required.

    SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Functional knowledge of sponsored programs, or pre-award activities
  • Experience should include at least 3 years of experience in working with an enterprise class business system and documentation.
  • Experience with training adult learners
  • Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint software packages.
  • Strong oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Someone that is pro-active and acts as an advocate for the use of the business systems.
  • High degree of accuracy, coordination and accuracy
  • Ability to listen and learn, self-study, and willingness to acquire new skills
  • Driven to provide superior customer satisfaction.

    Requirements:
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    A Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years' experience with data analysis, business analysis, and project assistance, including some in higher education, research, or related organizations. Preferred experience also includes Pre-Award and compliance business system such as Huron Click.
