Student Assistant for Student Engagement Center Events

Position Summary
The Student Assistant for Student Engagement Center (SEC) Events helps the SEC Staff with event management in the Student Engagement Center.

This is a student position open to current UIW students.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Set up and break down of the different rooms of the Student Engagement Center, including SEC Ballroom and meeting rooms;
-Set up and break down of audio/visual equipment;
-Customer service to all who come into the SEC;
-Perform other duties as assigned

Required Work Experience
Previous work experience is not required; training is available for setups, break downs, and audio/visual knowledge.

Work Hours
As a group, the students staff the Student Engagement Center during the following hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:45am 9:00pm;
- Friday: 7:45am 7:00pm;
- Saturday & Sunday: As needed to cover the events for the day, which are usually from 8 am-5 pm on Saturday and 8 am-8 pm on Sunday;
-Must have night and weekend availability;

Please note: Each student will have a regular weekly work schedule and have the opportunity to pick up additional hours as the event load allows. Students must work 12 hours per week, but not more than 20 hours per week.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs, for room setups and tear downs of tables, chairs and audio/visual equipment.
