Job Summary

The Clauset Laboratory in the BioFrontiers Institute seeks a Temporary Researcher to assist with data science. In the Clauset Lab, the research activities are broad and multidisciplinary, and we are active participants in the network science, complex systems, computational biology, and computational social science communities. Our work aims to understand the mechanisms by which large-scale patterns emerge from the collective actions of heterogeneous individuals within complex social and biological systems, and we develop novel techniques for inferring such patterns and mechanisms from rich data sources.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

This position will assist Prof. Clauset and members of the Clauset laboratory in:

Designing, implementing, evaluating, and interpreting statistical analyses of large-scale multivariate data sets.
Preparing written, visual, and oral reports of preliminary results.
Assisting in the writing of manuscripts.
Writing reusable and reliable code to support project related tasks.
Collaborating with other members of the Clauset laboratory on project related tasks.
Attending and participating in laboratory group meetings.

What We Can Offer

The hourly rate for this position is $24 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or equivalent.
Must have prior research experience.
Minimum GPA 3.5.
