Job Description:


The role of the Vice President for Finance and Administration is pivotal in cultivating a thriving educational community by safeguarding the College's financial well-being and ensuring administrative efficiency. As a strategic partner within the President's Executive Team, the Vice President collaborates with various units to advance the College's mission. Responsible for overseeing Finance and Administrative Services, Student Financial Services, Facilities and Capital Planning, and Information Technology, the Vice President manages key positions, including the Comptroller, Executive Director of Budget, Chief Information Officer, Director of Facilities, and Staff Associate to the Vice President.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide visionary leadership for the Division in alignment with the College's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  • Ensure ethical and legally compliant financial activities at the College.
  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, financial forecasts, performance metrics, audit compliance, risk management, contracts, purchasing, and campus operations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of performance within the Division of Finance and Administration.
  • Uphold the highest standards of performance in, Facilities, Student Accounts, Purchasing and Business Operations, and Information Technology.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement in the division's areas.
  • Address Board of Trustees' requests and counsel under the President's guidance.
  • Represent the President and the College in various settings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
  • Leveraging and developing the College's investment resources.
  • Leading and advising the senior management team in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual College budgetary process.
  • Utilizing knowledge of contracts with agencies and governmental entities for licenses, leases, and purchases for the College.
  • Monitoring of funding sources of the College including grants and scholarships.



Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible full-time administrative and supervisory experience in financial management, planning, operations, and capital project management.
  • Demonstrated success working in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Higher Education System.
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior, fair-mindedness, and team-building skills.
  • Financial and operational stewardship experience in a medium to large organization/agency.
  • Expertise in applying and monitoring compliance with governmental, investment, and industry standards; risk management; investment management; and capital project management.
  • Experience working effectively in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of collegiality, civility, trust, and student-centered excellence.
  • Personable relationship-building skills with constituents across the college.
  • Commitment to the employment and development of an ethnically and culturally diverse staff.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Commitment to community college philosophy, customer service, and student development and success.
  • Knowledge of federal and state policies and procedures related to community college education.
  • Appreciation for collective bargaining values and processes.
  • Leadership style emphasizing initiative, collaboration, problem-solving, team building, accessibility, and open communication.



Additional Information:


Position Status: Non-Unit Professional

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday

Salary: $145,912.00 - $189,685.00 Annually based upon education and experience

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites
