Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operator 2 position for Dining Services performs warehouse functions in multiple storage locations on our EWU campus, including storerooms, freezers and walk-in coolers. This position is responsible for receiving goods, transporting products, maintaining records, physical inventories, maintenance and safety.
  • The position supervises and participates in the receiving and unloading of product and equipment from vendors. Inspects the condition of incoming goods, checks their condition and quantity and assures accuracy of receiving documents and invoices.
  • Oversees the loading, unloading, movement, and distribution of materials, including food, equipment, and goods. Operates material-handling equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintains warehouse layout and inventory systems. Ensures that storage locations are neat, clean, and pest free.
  • Conducts physical inventories assuring accurate accounting records.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • One year of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping and receiving
  • Experience with material handling equipment.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.





Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of food service experience.
  • One year of Ordering and Inventory experience.
  • Knowledge of software systems including ordering, receiving, and inventory programs.
  • Ability to direct the work of others.

Conditions of Employment:
  • This position requires a valid food handlers permit and a drivers license.
  • This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • During the course of university employment this position will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
  • This position is covered by the Washington Federation of State Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Upon hire employees must comply with franchise requirements regarding clothing and appearance, if applicable.
  • All new employees will comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Salary Information: $41,316- $47,532 Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.
